Freedom

End of the World

So I haven't update for a while. Like all of October. But you can't really blame me, October *is* my favorite month. I am sure I was busy spending it at Oktoberfests, in pumpkin patches and crafting a Halloween costume. I am sure I was very busy in a very constructive sense. Well, now it is November. And I've got to say, I don't like November. I don't know why. Just never sat well with me. Probably because the beginning of November means the end of October, which as I just mentioned is my *favorite* month. I have never seen a Novemberfest or had a Novemberfest beer. So... there.

In other news, the Nicaragua experience is coming soon! Gahh! I gotta learn my spanish. Gotta gotta. Other than that, I think everything is set. We are currently interviewing people to take over my lease. With the stipulation that I get it back when I return. Daniel Ortega has been re-elected president of Nicaragua which cannot be a good or bad thing just yet. He gets inauguarated the day after we arrive. That should be interesting and great way to start off the trip. Hopefully, no one will recognize us as Americans. Right. Also for SOME reason, I have no clue why, I just searched plane tickets to Managua for the trip. The exact same itinerary that I already bought, just to see if there was a price difference. I bought my tickets for about $1100. Now I can get them for $800. Ouch. I want to puke. DAMNIT. But who could have seen Ortega winning and plane tickets from LA to Nica dropping so quickly? You know? I didn't see that coming (obviously).

This weekend I decided to take a small vacation and visit DC before my trip. I am way excited to go back to DC and see something new. DuBois is hosting a party (theme: Things that don't mix well... hmm)and I have convinced Sammyd to go as well. I can't wait! I need to start working on the costumey aspect. Right now I am thinking birds and plastic soda rings. Or turtles and helium balloons. What do you say DuBois, can you get a balloon for me? Preferably red. I will be there from Saturday night until Monday evening. Then back for a few days of work, weekend, and then THANKSGIVING? Scary.

I am headed home to Meximo for Thanksgiving and to participate in Blackout Wednesday. Count me excited once again.

I won't be back to Missouri until December 16. I am going to the Brown Christ's Ugly Sweater Party. Thats right, I travel for a good party. My last day of work at teh museum is December 15. Last day at the computer lab is December 16. Last day in Chicago is December 23. So.much.to.do!
