Our spread looked like this:
I grabbed some branches from the backyard and gave them a quick coat of silver spray paint and anchored them in a glass hurricane with tumbled glass pieces. We hung from them snowflake and icicle ornaments we got from Walmart after Christmas on mega sale.
For Christmas I received an ornament chandelier (yay!) which I decorated with foam white and blue snowflakes from Walmart (again on mega sale, or maybe just already cheap?) and more of the icicle ornaments. I ziptied this to my dining room light fixture and it hung over the table.
Our centerpiece was a magnificent diaper cake we made. And we are extremely proud of this feat. So much, that tomorrow I will be posting a tutorial on how you can make one as well.
After deciding on our theme, we moved on quickly to pick our menu. We instantly decided on puppy chow and snowflake cookies. They were two sweets coated in powdered sugar, can't go wrong there!
We added sausage stars (which were quickly dubbed meat flowers at the party and the name stuck) and fruit to round out all the sugar.
For drinks we had hot chocolate, water, and a special blueberry sprite concoction. The only drink consumed was our blueberry drink because we forgot to offer the hot chocolate! Oops.
The shower was so much fun! We had a great afternoon catching up, talking babies and life and munching on meat flowers. The mom-to-be left with some great gifts, lots of advice and tons of love from us. Can't wait to meet the baby boy in just a few weeks!
